Data analysis & AI-based process optimisation

Understanding data, optimising processes and effectively harnessing the potential of AI to drive operational improvements

A solid data foundation is crucial for the successful deployment of artificial intelligence. Without high-quality, accessible and sensibly structured data, it is not possible to develop either reliable analyses or effective AI applications. Data analysis and an understanding of processes therefore form a central foundation for any data-driven transformation.

This service helps companies to make targeted use of existing data and to derive concrete improvements for processes and decision-making from it. The focus is on the structured analysis of data from various sources and its preparation for the use of AI and data-driven methods.

Both technical and organisational aspects are taken into account – from identifying relevant data sources and assessing their quality through to their effective use in specific use cases. Particular emphasis is placed on industrial and production-related use cases such as bottleneck analysis, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, computer vision and intelligent production planning.

In addition, access to relevant data repositories (e.g., AI Alliance BW, SensorThings API-based data repositories, or Manufacturing-X) is supported. Companies receive guidance on selecting suitable data repositories as well as on using supporting tools and standards for secure and efficient data exchange.

This service is a central component of the “Strategy & Decision-Making” phase and goes hand in hand with the development of an AI strategy. In-depth data analysis is a necessary foundation for realistically assessing AI potential, supporting decision-making, and effectively preparing for subsequent implementation.

The goal is to create data-driven decision-making foundations and to identify concrete opportunities for process optimization—an essential step prior to the development or implementation of AI solutions.

Who is this service for?

The service is aimed at companies that already have data or actively generate data and wish to make better use of it. It is particularly well-suited for organizations in industry, manufacturing, and technology-driven sectors that want to optimize their processes using data or identify and prepare initial AI-supported use cases.

This program is aimed at specialists and managers in the fields of production, IT, data analysis, operations, and innovation who wish to improve data-driven decision-making or identify specific opportunities for optimization in their processes. Prior technical knowledge is helpful but not required.
