AI Training – Building Skills and Successfully Applying AI in Practice

Practical Training: From AI Fundamentals to Custom AI Solutions

Artificial intelligence is transforming the way companies and public institutions operate, design processes, and make decisions. To harness the potential of AI in a sustainable way, organizations need not only access to technologies but also the necessary knowledge and skills for safe, efficient, and responsible use.

With our AI training programs, we support companies and organizations in building AI competencies—from getting started in the world of artificial intelligence to developing and implementing their own AI solutions. The training programs are practice-oriented and tailored to the target audience, prior knowledge, and individual requirements.

Our offerings include both open continuing education formats and custom-designed in-house training courses that can be specifically tailored to the corporate context, concrete challenges, and existing use cases. Upon request, we will work with you to develop a suitable training concept.

Examples of existing training and continuing education offerings from our network:

  • “AI Skills for the Future,” organized by CyberForum: Hands-on training on AI fundamentals, as well as customized in-house programs covering generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, and AI tools in everyday work, AI literacy, prompting, AI agents, automation, data protection, governance, the EU AI Act, and leadership in the AI era.
  • “AI Continuing Education & AI Competency Development” offered by DIZ: Fundamentals of AI and initial practical applications, as well as the integration of AI into corporate strategy and change management.
  • “Introduction to AI in Business” offered by CAS: A foundational course providing an accessible introduction to artificial intelligence. Participants gain an overview of AI technologies, foundation models, and large language models; learn about typical use cases; and discover how to critically evaluate AI results. In addition, the fundamentals of the European AI Act and its significance for businesses are covered.
  • “Advanced Course: AI in Business,” offered by CAS: An in-depth training program for the professional use of modern AI systems. The course focuses on various AI models, AI tools, advanced prompt engineering, and practical applications such as AI-supported projects, reusable prompt structures (“Gems”), and AI agents.
  • “Build Your Own AI Solutions,” conducted by CAS: A hands-on training course on developing your own AI solutions. Participants learn to use AI to support projects, create their own custom GPTs, and build AI-based workflows or agent-based systems for specific tasks.
  • “The Process Model for AI Engineering – PAISE,” conducted by Fraunhofer IOSB: A training course on the structured implementation of AI projects. The process model helps organizations systematically plan, implement, and successfully put AI projects into practice.
  • “CHAISE – Setting Up an MLOps Environment” conducted by Fraunhofer IOSB: A technical training program focused on building professional AI infrastructures. The training course teaches the use of tools and methods for MLOps environments to efficiently develop, deploy, and operate AI applications.
  • “Human-Centered AI – A Practical Introduction and Hands-On Learning,” conducted by HKA: A workshop format that examines the introduction of AI from organizational, ethical, and human perspectives. Topics include transparency, explainability, fairness, inclusion, and the role of humans in AI-supported decision-making.
  • “Learning AI Implementation Through Play – Interactive Simulation Game” hosted by HKA: A hands-on simulation game in which participants simulate the implementation of an AI solution within an organization. The exercise brings technical, organizational, legal, and ethical challenges to life and enables participants to collaboratively develop solutions.
  • “Technical Deep Dive – AI, Security & Regulatory Technologies” conducted by the FZI Research Center for Information Technology: Key topics include IT and IoT security, automotive security, cryptography (e.g., post-quantum, homomorphic encryption), and AI-related security issues. In addition, regulatory aspects such as the GDPR, the EU AI Act, and other European data and AI requirements are addressed.

The goal of the AI training programs is to provide guidance, build competencies, and support organizations in using AI safely, effectively, and sustainably.
