Karlsruhe, 14 October 2025. AIxIA – The Franco-German AI Conference set a clear focus on trustworthy, sustainable and resilient AI in its sixth edition under the motto “Beyond Intelligence – The Next Era of AI.” Around 250 participants, over 30 speakers, 6 sessions, 2 panels and 2 keynotes – by Lucilla Sioli, Director of the EU AI Office, on the newly published Apply AI Strategy of the EU, and Ulrich Schmidt of Bosch Mobility with hands-on impulses from Bosch. The political greetings underlined the importance of the conference – from Berlin (Thomas Jarzombek, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation), Paris (Thomas Courbe, Directeur général at the French Ministry of the Economy) and Brussels (Henna Virkkunen, Vice-President of the European Commission for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy) as well as from the regions Baden-Württemberg (Michael Kleiner, Ministerialdirekcor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg) and Grand Est (Mathieu Vermel, Directeur général for Economic Attractiveness of the Région Grand Est).

Outcomes & Highlights 2025

  • Focus areas: Trust by Design, Public Sector 4.0, Frontiers of AI, Health, Mobility, Manufacturing & Intralogistics – with transferable use cases and concrete follow-ups.
  • Cooperation: Numerous Franco-German project initiations and SME/public administration follow-ups confirm the transfer towards scaling.
  • Context: The AIxIA Conference has existed since 2019 and in 2025 acts as a milestone on the road to the “European Summit on Digital Sovereignty 2025” on 18 November in Berlin, initiated by Germany and France.

“We must move from talk to action. AIxIA is the perfect platform for forging cross-border cooperation between Germany and France in applied AI – for a strong, sovereign Europe. Our goal is to foster collaborations, pilots, productive implementations and make them measurable, secure and scalable.” – this is how Gennadi Schermann, Managing Director of DIZ GmbH, sums up the conference.
